anya kalsi: emerging perspectives

Anya Kalsi is a contemporary visual artist whose work explores pattern, rhythm and texture in the natural world. After graduating from Lancaster University with a first-class degree in fine art, Anya has been widely recognised through awards and exhibitions.

Her solo exhibition 'Emerging Perspectives' commissioned by Punch Records is being shown in the Jewellery Quarter at the Hive.

The industrial feel of the Hive’s exhibition space complements the organic nature of Anya’s work perfectly, with various corners and nooks allowing you to wander and explore at your own pace.

The pieces are stark, but with layers of softness - whether it be oil paintings, mixed media, drawings or structural pieces. Emerging Perspectives invites you to look closer, to notice textures, tones and details you might have missed the first time.

Seeing Anya’s work in person is an inspiring experience. Upon entering the exhibition, you’ll get taken on a journey through the grooves and shadows and even have the opportunity to look in Anya’s sketchbook to see how she develops her artwork and techniques.

The exhibition is open until Friday 14th August at the Hive, 10am – 3:30pm.

Admission is free.
